Currently, there’s nothing to stop anyone with malicious intent and some ­computer-programming skills from taking control of your car. After gaining access, a hacker can control almost every system; from infotainment to brakes.

In future malicious hackers can, and will, attack cars. The need for scrutiny is a must, as cars are increasingly automated and connected.

    Car hacking is something that the average driver probably doesn’t think about, but once hackers figure it out, it could pose some serious risks to drivers. Can you imagine if they shut down your brake system without you knowing it?

    The idea that something like this could happen in the future has never crossed my mind. I can’t’ imagine all the malicious things it could be used for.
